Mahler in Symphonic Cinema

Tue 11 Feb 2020 19:30h Het Concertgebouw

Symphonic Cinema: a unique, immersive experience which combines cinema and live music. Film maker Lucas van Woerkum, himself a French horn player, directs the on-screen visuals from within the orchestra using a touchscreen computer. The film and music are perfectly matched, although no two performances are the same. Following earlier successes with Stravinsky’s Firebird and Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra now plays music by Mahler, conducted by Antony Hermus.
