Lydia Teuscher

Soprano

German soprano Lydia Teuscher (1975) sings a repertoire of lieder, opera and concert pieces, distinguishing herself above all as a specialist in the 18th-century repertoire of Bach, Handel, Haydn and Mozart.

She has performed as a soloist with specialist orchestras such as the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra under conductors such as René Jacobs, Ton Koopman and Roger Norrington. She has also impressed as a soloist with major symphony orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra. In addition, she has shone in many opera productions. She played the role of Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte during Mozart Week in Salzburg and at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro at the Glyndebourne Festival.
Lydia Teuscher studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and at the Hochschule für Musik in Mannheim.
