Reaching for Indigo: GAIA INFINITUS opgenomen tijdens Le Guess Who? 2018
Vandaag verschijnt het album Reaching for Indigo: GAIA INFINITUS van de Amerikaanse band Circuit des Yeux. Het album heeft een Nederlands tintje: het werd namelijk live opgenomen met musici van het Nederlands Kamerorkest op het toonaangevende muziekfestival Le Guess Who? in TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. Speciaal voor het festival vertaalde Haley Fohr, frontvrouw van Circuit des Yeux, de nummers van het veelgeprezen album Reaching for Indigo uit 2017 naar een overweldigende live-ervaring met een grote rol voor de musici van het Nederlands Kamerorkest.
Reaching for Indigo: GAIA INFINITUS wordt uitgebracht door het Amerikaanse label Drag City en verschijnt op LP/DVD in een gelimiteerde oplage van 300 stuks. Het album wordt gestoken in 100 verschillende albumcovers; de DVD bevat een videoregistratie van het volledige optreden, waaronder het niet eerder uitgebrachte nummer Four Limbs. De bijzonder uitgave is vanaf nu verkrijgbaar via Drag City, Bandcamp en circuitdesyeux.com; op maandag 13 mei is het album via alle streaming platforms te beluisteren.

'Let it be known that I once walked the Earth and chose to sing my way through life. Let it be known that one of these many singing rituals transpired on Nov 11, 2018 at Le Guess Who? Festival. On this evening Cooper Crain rearranged works from 2017's Reaching For Indigo, members of the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra helped re-imagine this aforementioned music, Le Guess Who? Festival documented it, and here today we have Reaching For Indigo: GAIA INFINITUS: Performed Live at Le Guess Who? Festival. Drag City & I have meticulously prepared a limited 300 count LP/DVD, featuring 100 different album covers, as well as a video documentation of the entire performance. It includes a previously unreleased song written during the Indigo era, Four Limbs, and is exclusively available on the vinyl version of this release.
