In order to play at a top level, our orchestra members need the best instruments. Many of them play on 18th and 19th century instruments, often on loan from the National Musical Instruments Fund. As a rule, musicians play on instruments of the orchestra when, due to size or weight, they cannot be carried by the musician himself. The double basses, harps, timpani's, percussion and a large number of wind instruments are therefore in the possession of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra|Dutch Chamber Orchestra. These instruments require maintenance and are sometimes in need of replacement. Together with you, we can keep the instruments at top level.
