Statutory objective
The object of the Netherlands Philharmonic and Netherlands Chamber Orchestra is to maintain an orchestra that will perform the following tasks:


The accompaniment of performances by The National Opera.
The maintenance of a symphony orchestra.
The maintenance of a chamber orchestra.
The performance of all that is related or conducive to this, in the broadest sense, including socially relevant and educational activities.
The foundation does not aim to make a profit.

Mission: Through our love of music we bring people together

The Netherlands Philharmonic and Netherlands Chamber Orchestra provides opera and concert productions at the highest artistic level. With programs for education, outreach and talent development, the Netherlands Philharmonic and Netherlands Chamber Orchestra invests in the future of classical music.

Remuneration system
The musicians of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra are remunerated according to the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch orchestras. Staff members are remunerated according to the BBRA scales for government employees. The Supervisory Board receives no remuneration for its work.

Financial accountability

The foundation includes two orchestra formations: the Netherlands Philharmonic and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra. A significant part of the figures in the annual accounts relating to performance, audience reach and costs relates to work at De Nationale Opera.

N.B. for this both orchestras do not receive receipts, which may be relevant in numerical comparisons.
