The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra presents Mozart's Symphony No. 40 and music from the opera Idomeneo. Perfectly suited to an orchestra that specialises in both Mozart and opera. You can also enjoy Ivo Pogorelić, “the greatest Chopin interpreter of our time”, in Chopin's Second Piano Concerto. Don't miss it!

Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 and Mozart's Symphony No. 40
Mozart's
Symphony No. 40
Led by Gordan Nikolić, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra plays Mozart's
Symphony No. 40
. A mysterious symphony without a (known) patron, one of only two symphonies Mozart wrote in a minor key, admired by Schumann and Brahms. The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra will also perform Mozart's ballet music from the opera
Idomeneo
, tailor-made for this regular partner of the Dutch National Opera.
Ivo Pogorelić plays Chopin's Second Piano Concerto
Ivo Pogorelić took part in the Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1980, but was eliminated before the final due to jury disputes and political wrangling, much to the astonishment of the audience. Marta Argerich, a former winner, demonstratively resigned from the jury and called him a genius — a scandal was born. Now, both friends and foes praise Pogorelić's interpretation of Chopin, and he has even been called “the greatest Chopin interpreter of our time” by a music critic. Don't miss this performance of Chopin's beloved and poetic Second Piano Concerto!
