American Alisa Weilerstein discovered the cello at the age of four. At the age of just thirteen, she was already performing with the Cleveland Orchestra. Over the years, she has become one of the most renowned cellists in the United States.

She has performed as a soloist with virtually all the major American orchestras and abroad with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. She has also been a guest performer with the Netherlands Philharmonic on several occasions. In addition, she has given many recitals at venues including the Kennedy Centre in Washington, Wigmore Hall in London and the Tanglewood Festival. Together with her parents (a violinist and a pianist), she forms the successful Weilerstein Trio.
Alisa Weilerstein is passionate about contemporary music. She has given world premieres of works by Blackford, Hallman and Auerbach, among others. Her

project is particularly noteworthy. These are small concerts featuring Bach's cello suites interspersed with short works composed especially for her.
