Annette Zahn

Principal double bass

Annette Zahn studied in Germany with Professor Günter Klaus and Harald Friedrich, and at the Geneva Conservatory with Franco Petracchi.

She concluded her studies with the Premier Prix de Virtuosité. After her studies, she was appointed by Sir John Eliot Gardiner as leader double bass at the Opéra de Lyon. In addition, Annette played with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and the Swiss Romandy Orchestra in several major venues in Europe.
At the end of the 1980s Annette Zahn moved to the Netherlands. After several years as double bass leader with the Ballet Orchestra, she was appointed double bass leader of the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra in 1991. In chamber music, she played nationally and internationally with Gordan Nikolić, among others.
