Norwegian soprano Berit Norbakken trained at the Norges Musikkhøgskole in Oslo and the Staatlich Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe.

In the years since, she has become one of the most prominent Norwegian vocalists of our time. She sang various opera roles and gained fame performing baroque repertoire. She performed with a large number of Scandinavian orchestras as well as specialized ensembles such as the Kölner Akademie, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and the Norwegian ensemble Baroksolistene where she is a very regular guest. In March 2024 season she sang Bach's St. John Passion in a production with the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century conducted by Daniel Reuss.
