Carice van Houten

Her role in Paul Verhoeven's 2006 Black Book began an international career. Other notable roles she played include Bryan Singer's Valkyrie , opposite Tom Cruise, and in Martin Koolhoven's Brimstone . In 2011, Carice van Houten was named Best Actress at the Tribeca Festival in New York for her role in Paula van der Oest's Black Butterflies . She also received her fifth Golden Calf (a record!) for this role.
In the Netherlands she appeared on stage opposite Pierre Bokma in De Gravin van Parma and in Alles is liefde by Joram Lürsen, one of the most successful Dutch films ever. As Minoes , she starred in the Annie MG Schmidt film adaptation of the same name. Recently, Carice van Houten starred in the film Instinct and in the television series Red Light , in which she was involved both as an actress and as co-producer. Recent international television series include Temple , Dangerous Liaisons and Malice . Carice van Houten is active as a climate activist and uses her social media channels to speak out on issues close to her heart.
