She studied with Eric Dequeker and Paul Verhey, and later at the Royal Academy of Music in London with William Bennett. Since 1992, Ellen has been a permanent member of the Netherlands Philharmonic and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra as tutti flute and solo piccolo.
