Eva de Vries is a sought-after chamber and orchestral musician.

She received her Master of Music with distinction in 2019 when she graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London. Here she studied with Levon Chilingirian (Chilingirian Quartet), after completing her Bachelor at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with Peter Brunt and Philippe Graffin.
In 2016, she founded The New String Trio with whom she won the Great Chamber Music Prize in 2017. Following this success, they gave concerts at various festivals in the Netherlands, Spain and England. Also in 2017, Eva co-founded the Bloomsbury Quartet, where she is the first violinist. As a quartet, they are the Goodenough College Quartet in Residence and were chosen for the Stroud Green Festival Ensemble Scheme (2018-2019) and the 2018-2019 Wigmore Hall/Open Academy Fellowship ensemble. The 2019-2020 season included a tour of England where they promoted Elizabeth Maconchy's string quartets. In 2018-2022, the quartet performed several times at Wigmore Hall and included the premiere of the quartet composed by Daniel Fardon, commissioned by the Royal Philharmonic Society. This work won the prestigious Ivor Novello Award. Furthermore, Eva is a member of the StringWood Ensemble with whom they twice organized the StringWood Festival in Katwijk. Other highlights in Eva's chamber music career include performances in The Concertgebouw, Canada, West America, Argentina and Chile.
Eva has also played in various orchestras in the Netherlands and England. Since Aug. 2022, Eva has been a permanent member of the Netherlands Philharmonic. She plays on a violin Guarnerius Copy of the “Voller Brothers” that was loaned to her by the National Musical Instrument Fund.
