Born in Espinho, Portugal, Inês Pais studied at the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas
with Augusto and Alexandra Trindade and earned her master’s degree at Codarts –
University of the Arts in Rotterdam under the guidance of Pavel Fischer.

She has worked with renowned musicians such as Maxim Vengerov, Eszter Haffner,
Barbara Doll, Zsolt-Tihamér Visontay, and Mayuko Kamio, as well as Portuguese
violinists including Nuno Meira, Ana Sofia Mota, and Evandra Gonçalves. She has
participated in festivals such as the Aurora Fine Arts Festival in Sweden.
As an orchestral musician, Inês has performed with the Nederlands Kamerorkest,
Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, Noord Nederlands
Orkest, Sinfonia Rotterdam, the European Union Youth Orchestra, and others across
Europe. In Portugal, she collaborated with several national youth and professional
orchestras.
As a soloist and chamber musician, she has appeared at venues such as Oporto’s
Municipal Theater Rivoli and the International Music Festival of Paços de Brandão
(FIMUV). In the 2024/25 season, Inês was a member of the Nederlands Philharmonisch
& Nederlands Kamerorkest Academy. Inês plays a 1930 Giuseppe Fiorini violin, generously loaned to her by the National Musical Instrument Fund.
