Kerson Leong

Violin

Since winning First Prize at the renowned International Yehudi Menuhin Violin Competition in 2010, Canadian violinist Kerson Leong has enjoyed a flourishing international career.

Le Monde was impressed by ‘the blend of spontaneity and mastery, elegance, imagination and intensity that makes his sound recognisable from the very first notes’. Kerson Leong studied at the Montreal Conservatory and was artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel from 2015 to 2019.
His passion for chamber music has taken him to festivals such as the Verbier Festival, Rheingau Musik Festival and the Gstaad Menuhin Festival. He has performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras in Canada, the United States, Asia and Europe. Kerson Leong has recorded Ysaÿe's six solo sonatas for Alpha Classics and Bruch and Britten's violin concertos with the Philharmonia Orchestra. The latter CD was awarded five stars by Diapason and was Editor's Choice in Gramophone.
