Since winning the international pianoforte competition at the Musica Antiqua Festival in Bruges in 2001, South African Kristian Bezuidenhout has made a name for himself as an excellent soloist on the pianoforte and harpsichord.

He has performed with specialist ensembles such as the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, Concerto Köln and Les Arts Florissants, as well as modern orchestras including the Gewandorchester Leipzig and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. He has also performed with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra.
The pianist has a large number of award-winning CDs to his name. These include a recording of Mozart's complete piano music (Diapason d'Or and Jahrespreis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik) and as an accompanist to songs by Schubert, Beethoven and Schumann.
In recent years, Kristian Bezuidenhout has made a name for himself as a conductor of 17th and 18th century music. He has conducted the Collegium Vocale Gent, Tafelmusik and the Kammerakademie Potsdam. He is currently the regular guest conductor of The English Concert and the Freiburger Barokorchester.
