Lucie Chartin

Sopraan

From Tokyo to São Paulo, French-Dutch soprano Lucie Chartin has graced the stage, praised for her “impeccable coloratura” (The Times) and “magnetic stage presence” (The Sunday Times).

She has performed with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, the Netherlands Bach Society, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, and the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, under conductors such as Marc Albrecht, Shunske Sato, Václav Luks, Richard Egarr, Daniël Reuss, and Yannick Nézet-Séguin.

On the opera stage, she has sung roles such as Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare), Ophélie (Hamlet), the Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), and Katherina (Amadeus), with Opera North, Dutch National Opera, Opéra de Metz, Het Nationale Theater, and OPERA2DAY, among others.

In 2020, she traded stage life for her own design agency and a toddler.

Now she is back on stage — with more artistic freedom, less need to prove herself, and a healthy dose of gratitude for all the companies that are welcoming her back with open arms.

But enough about her. How are you?
