American violinist Melissa Ann Ussery began playing the violin at the age of five.

She studied with Daniel Mason, Lex Korff de Gidts and Alexander Kerr at the University of Kentucky and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In 2007, Melissa soloed in Bottesini's
Grand Duo Concertante
with the Spoleto Festival Orchestra. In 2014, Melissa soloed the Vivaldi concerto for three violins with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra.
She performs regularly in Dutch orchestras and various chamber music ensembles. She has also participated in several theater productions and loves the combination of acting and music. Melissa enjoys playing various types of world music and has a bluegrass band.
Melissa has been with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra as first violinist since 2009. She plays on a violin built by Finnigan-Klaembt of Bremen, which was built in 2021.
