Michele Spotti (1993) is Musical Director of the Opéra de Marseille and its Philharmonic Orchestra and will become Principal Guest Conductor of the Deutsche Oper Berlin in the 2026/2027 season.

Honored by the French Ministry of Culture as Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres , he has conducted at leading houses including the Paris Opera, Deutsche Oper, Arena Opera Festival, Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and Semperoper Dresden. A recent highlight has been Verdi's opera Falstaff at Festival Verdi Parma. And upcoming highlights include L’italiana in Algeri in Geneva, and his Metropolitan Opera debut with La traviata in 2026.
Spotti collaborates with renowned directors such as Robert Wilson, Damiano Michieletto, and Barrie Kosky, and with institutions including Bayerische Staatsoper and Komische Oper Berlin. He also serves as Musical Director of the Orchestra Filarmonica di Benevento, performing with major European ensembles. A Milan Conservatory graduate, he made his debut at age twenty with Le Nozze di Figaro and later assisted Alberto Zedda in Rossini’s Ermione at the Opéra de Lyon.
