Mintje began violin lessons at age 5 with Anneke Schilt.

She then took lessons with Hans Scheepers, Joyce Tan, Mimi Zweig, Chris Duindam and Lex Korff de Gidts. In 2006 she received her bachelor's degree from the Conservatory of Amsterdam. She then studied in Berlin with Ilan Gronich at the Universität der Künste. From 2004 to 2006 Mintje was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra conducted by Bernard Haitink, Sir Colin Davis, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Paavo Järvi and Sir John Eliot Gardiner, among others.
In 2007, Mintje was admitted to Academy of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Even during the academic year, she got a job in the Radio Chamber Philharmonic, where she enjoyed playing for five years, until its dissolution, inspired by conductors such as Philippe Herreweghe and Frans Brüggen. Mintje remplaçed with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, among others. Twice she participated in the Zermatt Festival with the Scharoun Ensemble from the Berliner Philharmoniker. In Berlin, she played with Soloist Ensemble Kaleidoskop.
