Raoul Steffani

Baritone

Raoul Steffani is one of the Netherlands’ most promising vocal talents of the moment.

After winning the 2016 Elisabeth Everts Prize, the 2018 Dutch Classical Talent Audience Award and the 2018 Grachtenfestival Prize, his career really took off. But the real crowning glory came with the Dutch Music Prize, which he was awarded in 2023. He sang at the Prinsengracht Concert, which was broadcast live on television, has performed in international opera houses and concert halls with orchestras such as the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, and also performs as a lieder singer in the most prestigious venues. He recorded a CD of duets by Robert Schumann with mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožená. In 2021, Barbara Hannigan invited him to perform in a concert and CD recording of works by Alban Berg. His CD Alma Mahler, lovers & friends has been nominated for the prestigious Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik. Raoul Steffani studied at the Vienna Conservatory and with Margreet Honig at the conservatories of Amsterdam and Tilburg, where he graduated summa cum laude.
