Ridout is an iconic chamber musician and presents both solo and ensemble programs in venues such as Wigmore Hall, Het Concertgebouw, and Alice Tully Hall New York.

He has collaborated with Janine Jansen, Isabelle Faust, and Benjamin Grosvenor, among others. Highlights of the 24/25 season included the world premiere of Mark Simpson's viola concerto Hold Your Heart in Your Teeth at the Berliner Philharmonie with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin under Robin Ticciati, as well as performances of Bartók's Viola Concerto with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège and Walton's Viola Concerto with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. Timothy Ridout is performing this season with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris, and the Dresdner Philharmonie, among others. In 2025, he won the Opus Klassik award in the category “Young Instrumentalist of the Year” for his first solo album for viola with works by Telemann, Bach, Britten, and Shaw.
