Vadim Tsibulevsky

First concertmaster

Azerbaijani-born violinist Vadim Tsibulevsky made his debut in Baku at the age of 10.

Two years later he won a regional violinist competition which enabled him to become a student of the Central Music School for Gifted Children in Moscow. He continued his education at the Moscow Conservatory where he became concertmaster of the Conservatory Orchestra. He moved to Israel where he joined the Israel Chamber Orchestra then under the direction of the renowned violinist Shlomo Mintz and studied under Yair Kless. In 1996 he became concertmaster of the Belgian chamber orchestra I Fiammingi. Vadim Tsibulevsky was regularly heard as a soloist in recitals and festivals in Europe, Russia and Israel. He has played with such well-known musicians as Shlomo Mintz, Philippe Entremont and David Golub, among others. He has also performed as a guest concertmaster with the Philharmonic in Antwerp, the Brussels Philharmonic and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bergen in Norway, among others. Since 2001, Vadim Tsibulevsky has served as 1st concertmaster with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra.
Vadim Tsibulevsky plays a Guarneri del Gesù violin, made available to him by the National Musical Instruments Fund.
