Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto and Symphony No. 4

Tchaikovsky takes the lead role in this concert with guest conductor Alexandre Bloch, the face of the Orchestre National de Lille for nearly a decade. Beloved is his fierce and tempestuous Symphony No. 4 . It shows the struggle in Tchaikovsky's life at the time the work was created, but also the unyielding strength to get back on top. He takes you from the tragic fanfare at the beginning to the highest jubilation in the finale.

Clara-Jumi Kang

Tchaikovsky's famous Violin Concerto is on the lectern of every great violinist. Also on that of Clara-Jumi Kang, who once really began her career as a prize winner of the prestigious Tchaikovsky Competition. The concert begins with a commissioned work by Finnish composer Outi Tarkiainen. In The Rapids of Life , she describes the birth of new life: the tension, the struggle, the pain, but also the deep joy at seeing the newborn.
