Every year, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra performs Bach's Passion music. This year, the orchestra is collaborating with its regular artistic partner Cappella Amsterdam for the St Matthew Passion.

Anyone who hears the opening chorus of the St Matthew Passion is immediately captivated by the almost supernatural beauty and intensity of this music. Other highlights include the poignant soprano aria Blute nur, the comforting alto aria Erbarme dich with its famous violin solo, and the overwhelming choral work Sind Blitze, sind Donner.
This programme can be heard on 18 March at Theater aan de Parade Den Bosch, on 20 and 22 March at Het Concertgebouw, on 21 March at PHIL Haarlem, on 24 March at the Grote Kerk Alkmaar and on 25 March at Musis and Stadstheater Arnhem.
